Earth Day: A Day Dedicated to Our Planet
Have you ever thought of the role of the earth in the life of all living beings? Have you ever thought that it’s our responsibility to take care of our planet? World Earth Day makes people think of these things at least once in a year. April 22nd is the unique day on which people share the responsibility to protect the planet. The Earth Day was first observed on March 21st when San Francisco proclaimed the World Earth Day in the year 1970.
The Earth Day Symbol
The symbol of the Earth Day truly depicts the present environmental conditions. The Symbol consists of the English alphabet “O” with a horizontal stroke at its center. Based on a white background and green color, it resembles the Greek alphabet THETA.
Earth Day Celebrations
Today, one of the most important causes has been dedicated to Earth Day. But, it is a matter of shame that very few people celebrate Earth Day. Earth Day celebrations should be carried out using a plant theme. Something related to nature or that would benefit our earth is the most successful way of celebrating Earth Day. You should be very specific about using recyclable and eco-friendly substances at least on this day. A good place to make your celebrations should be away from city pollution at a scenic spot to help feel closer to the earth.
Concerns
Pollution of any type is one of the biggest problems in our earth. Machines powering mankind’s many needs are dependent on fossil fuels, and as such are the biggest cause of air pollution and global warming. Increased natural calamities are also one of the biggest side effects of rampant pollution. Earth Day is meant to spur on a drive to find new ideas as to how to improve our natural environment. You should also try to inspire changes in yourself as well as in others.
