Father’s Day: Make Your Father Feel Special
Every year, the 3rd Sunday of June is celebrated as Father’s Day. A father is shown the value of his fatherhood in his child’s life. Dads, step-dads, uncles, and grandfathers are celebrated on Father’s Day. This day is meant to be a special time for fathers all over the world.
The Origin of Father’s Day
The 3rd Sunday of June 1910 witnessed the first celebration of Fathers day in Spokane, Washington. A girl called Sonora Smart realized the importance of her father and took the initiative to celebrate this day as Father’s Day. Until 1972 Father’s Day was not widely celebrated. In 1972, Father’s Day was declared as an official holiday in the United States. In many countries Father’s Day is still not an official holiday and is celebrated on various dates.
Why Should You Celebrate Father’s Day?
A good father can be a friend, philosopher and guide. He has a vital bond with his children and loves them dearly. A good father is a man that has been caring for his children in every possible way to see them become successful in their own life. Father’s Day is a day where you can truly give back to your father for all that he’s done for you.
Celebrating Father’s Day
The main objective in celebrating Father’s Day is to make it known to your father that you love him. You can take him out to dinner, and do the things that he loves to do. If he’s been longing for a particular item all year, now is the time to ensure he receives it. After all, it is his special day, and all the focus should be on him. It’s a day of reflection also, where you can think back on all the nice things your father has done for you, and let him know you remember those things. It will show him that you truly care, and that you appreciate all that he has done for you.
