Mother’s Day: A Day for Your Beloved Mom

Mother’s Day: A Day for Your Beloved Mom

Mother’s Day is a day to remember, respect and to say thanks to your mother. Does that mean you won’t love, respect or remember your mother on other days? We certainly hope not! It’s a day specially dedicated to your mother. It’s also the day to celebrate motherhood.

History

Mother’s Day is celebrated on various days in many countries. This day has its origin from ancient Greece where Cybele, the mother of Greek Gods was worshipped. Ancient Romans also celebrated this day as Matronalia, on which they used to give gifts to their own mothers. Since then this day has been celebrated worldwide and commercial activities have really pumped up the broad appeal of the day.

Celebrations for Mother’s Day

We celebrate Mother’s Day as a tribute to her. A gift for your mother is one way to celebrate Mother’s Day. Everything from cards to bouquets and special gifts to dinner out, could be the gift of choice for your mother. But, the real gift for your mother is you yourself. Actually, a mother deserves a lot more than a single Mother’s Day. Every single day should be celebrated as Mother’s Day. If you realize what your mother does for you then you would definitely be saying there is no way to repay your mother.

The Sacrifice by Your Mother

Many women sacrifice their career, education and life to raise their children properly. They care for their child more than themselves. They protect their children, even when they themselves are hurt. A mother always gives the best for her children. She does not ever complain about the burden she has to bear and neither does she move away from it. After all these sacrifices and many more don’t you think that every day should be Mother’s Day?
